What Is a Silo Dust Collector and How Does It Work?
A practical guide to silo dust collector structure, pulse jet cleaning and silo venting applications.
A silo dust collector is a compact filtration unit installed on the top of a cement silo, fly ash silo, powder silo or bulk storage bin. During pneumatic conveying, truck unloading or material filling, air inside the silo must be vented. The dust collector captures powder particles and releases clean air.
How It Works
Dust-laden air enters the filter chamber. Filter bags or cartridges intercept dust particles. When dust builds up on the filter surface, a pulse jet cleaning system uses compressed air to clean the filter media. The collected dust falls back into the silo or hopper.
Main Components
- Filter bags or cartridge filter elements
