Engineering Questions to Ask

Ask how the proposed airflow and filter area were selected, what filtration velocity was assumed and why the chosen media suits the powder. A credible supplier should explain assumptions and request missing process data instead of selecting only from silo tonnage.

Request a general arrangement drawing that identifies the dirty-air path, clean-air outlet, filter removal direction, lifting points, flange and service clearances.

Manufacturing Evidence

Real photographs of cutting, forming, welding, tube-sheet fabrication, pulse-pipe work, surface treatment, assembly and completed batches help verify capability. Inspection records should match the scope: dimensions, coating, electrical checks, fan rotation and pulse sequence where applicable.

Commercial and Export Controls

Use a controlled drawing revision and require written approval before fabrication. This reduces disputes when a retrofit flange or outlet position changes late in the project.

Ask a prospective manufacturer to link drawings, photographs, test records and nameplate data to the offered model. Generic workshop photographs prove less than a dated inspection record showing the actual order and measured interfaces.

  • Request packing and loading evidence before shipment.
